Rangat, Oct 19: Lack of professionalism in the management of CHC Rangat has resulted into a kind of harassment to the patient coming for treatment in the Community Health Center, Rangat.
As per reports, this is the 4th day, the CHC Rangat is not issuing OPD Slips to patients and as an alternative measure public are being asked to come with a Notebook to see a doctor.
Andaman Sheekha has received number of complaints from the residents of Rangat about this issue in the CHC Rangat since past 4 days.
“We rush to the hospital to get immediate treatment but instead of giving immediate care to us we are given an another burden by the receptionist of the CHC Rangat, to come with a Notebook or Notepad,” said a patient who visited the hospital recently in case of anonymity.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr Jetendra Singh an attendant of a patient who too recently visited the CHC Rangat said that this is not the system the hospital should run with.
“Let the situation be at its worst but atleast an OPD Slip which is a most common facility, a Community Health Center must have all 365 days, people are indirectly harassed,” said MrJetendra Singh.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the Chief Medical Officer of CHC Rangat, Dr Suja Varghese, rubbished all allegations and said that the hospital do have sufficient quantity of OPD Slips.
“We are just not issuing the slips to the older patients because they mostly don’t carry the slip or forget to carry their slip with them, when they visit the CHC, Rangat again for check-up thus making it difficult for us to recall the patient’s medical history,” Dr Suja added.
She justified such act of CHC by saying that asking patients to bring a Notebook will help them to keep it safely and will also help them to remember that they have to come with the same book when they will be visiting the CHC, next time.
However, public of Rangat refuses to accept the logic and answer given by the CMO.
Explanation of the authorities of the CHC might be true, but people of Rangat are not liking it. “If carrying notebook is a standard procedure why hospitals across country issues medical slip?” questioned another resident of Rangat
