Port Blair, Oct 17: In order to create awareness on fire prevention for the benefit of Doctors and their staff of A&N Islands Private Practicing Doctors Association (ANIPPDA), the A & N Police Fire Service Training Centre has imparted a lecture cum demonstration on “First Aid Fire Fighting & Safety aspects” to combat the situation in case of any eventuality while at Clinic or Hospital was conducted exclusively on 16/10/2016. At the end of the course, a live demonstration on using of various types of fire fighting equipments like Water Co2 Extinguisher, Mechanical Foam Extinguisher, Co2 Extinguisher, DCP Extinguisher etc. was also conducted by involving the participants in the premises of Fire Service (HQs), Port Blair.
Shri. B. Saigal, Dy. Superintendent of Police (Fire Service), A&N Islands was present in the occasion. In his address, he appreciated all the participants for their active participation and briefed about fire prevention, safety aspects and to combat the situation in case of eventuality while in home, office, Hospital/Clinic etc. He further appealed the participants to utilize the knowledge and experience gained during the training programme in case of any eventuality at their premises. This is the first time such a training programme was organized especially for the private Doctors at Police Fire Service Training Centre.
The participants have expressed that the training programme was beneficial for the individuals to respond to emergency during the survival time for reaching Fire personnel to the scene of fire. Altogether, 87 persons had attended the training programme and they also shared their views in length and many doubts raised and cleared subsequently. Dr. Dinesh, Secretary took initiative for the benefit of the doctors and staff and President Dr. Rohindra Lal of A & N Islands Private Practicing Doctors Association (ANIPPDA) proposed vote of thanks.
