Port Blair, Oct 06: Andaman College(ANCOL) celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 02.10.2016 at the college Auditorium. Various programs were organized to mark the day in a meaningful manner.
Earlier Principal of the college Dr R Dev Das lighted the traditional lamp to inaugurate the function. He also paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. In his address to the students he explained the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and its relevance in the present circumstances.
He stressed upon the students to become the ambassadors of peace in spreading the message and philosophy of Gandhi Ji. He further added that the Gandhian Philosophy is more relevant in the present world and world peace; social equality can be achieved only by following the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
The students of Music Department presented a beautiful composition of the devotional song ‘Raghu Pati Raghav Raja Ram’. Students and staff also took a pledge to work for non violence.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Dr A K Shukla, HOD(Hindi).
