Port Blair, Oct 05: Port Blair Municipal Council in association with All India Institute of Self Government, Mumbai empanelled by Ministry of Urban Development organized a three day Capacity Building programme under “AMRUT” from 3rd to 5th October 2016 at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium, Municipal Council, Port Blair.
In the valedictory function while addressing the trainees, Shri. Anindo Mazumdar, Chief Secretary appreciated the efforts made by the Port Blair Municipal Council and advised that the inhouse training programme will give the information but immediately a exposure visit of few officers and elected members has to be planned by which the information gathered may be realized by viewing the best practices carried out various cities. The Chief Secretary in his address added that this capacity building programme gives a special identity due to the inclusive of officers and elected members which will pave a path for better development of the city.
Shri. Yashpal Garg, Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council in his welcome address briefed about the contents and curriculum of the capacity building programme. He appreciated the participation of the elected members for the whole session of the capacity building programme.
At the end, Shri. S. Biju Pillai, Project Officer extended vote of thanks to one and all whose support made this programme a success.
