Port Blair, Oct 4: On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of Nation on Oct 2, the Police Training School, Prothrapur has organized a cleanliness drive with a view to sensitize Police personnel about the importance of nature’s assets and inculcate a sense of responsibility on every citizen to protect/conserve it. Under the overall supervision of Smt Geeta Rani Verma, Principal, PTS, the entire premises and building area PTS i.e. mess, barracks, drill hall, parade ground, armoury and surrounding were cleaned up by ensuring to adopt eco-friendly measures and by using hygienic means/habits. Altogether 155 Police staff in all ranks including recruits have actively participated in the ‘Rastriya Swatchhta Diwas’. In compliance of Circular of A&N Administration vide No. Misc/2015-GA dated Sept 26, 2016, a ‘Pledge Taking Ceremony’ was also organized today at 0930 hrs by observing commemoration of “International Day of Nonviolence” at PTS, Prothrapur.
