Port Blair, Sept 29: Consequent to the Ban on prohibiting the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale on all forms of processed/flavoured/scented chewing tobacco, whether going by the name or form of Gutka Pan Masala, Zarda packed and unpacked/loose, tobacco leaf in any form etc. and pan masala based sugar boiled based confectionaries in the entire union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands for a period of one year from 2nd October, 2016 in the interest of public health, the President, Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry had a meeting with the Lt. Governor today the 29th September, 2016.
As advised by the Lt. Governor, the Chamber is requesting all traders and wholesale dealers to send the list of the above tobacco products to the Chamber Office, which they want to return so that arrangements will be made by the Chamber to send these materials to Chennai or Kolkata as the case may be.
All traders and dealers of tobacco products are hereby requested to send the list of above tobacco products which they want to return to the mainland to the Chamber Office by 1st October, 2016.
