Port Blair, Sept 23: Field Operations Division of National Sample Survey Office under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Govt. of India is organizing a Regional Training Camp from 26.09.2016 to 28.09.2016 in the office premises. Ms Monami Mitra, Deputy Director, NSSO, Survey Design Research Division, Kolkata will inaugurate the camp. In the camp necessary training will be imparted to the officials by Shri. Sandip Kumar Sadhu, Assistant Director and Shri. K. Chandra Kumar, Senior Statistical Officer to carry out the Socio-Economic survey of 74th round of NSS.
The 74th round of NSS (July 2016 – June 2017) would be list frame based enterprise focused survey on service sector. The survey is to be conducted under the statutory provisions of the Collection of Statistics (COS) Act, 2008 and the rules framed there-under in 2011. This is a first survey of its kind covering large business establishments of services sector using list frame. The data to be collected in this round will help in meeting the requirements of different Ministries, Organisations such as Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, National Accounts Division, CSO, etc., as also academicians and researchers. Besides, this survey would form a prelude to the Annual Survey of Services Sector.
