Port Blair, Sept 22: Kala Kendra – A&N Islands Society for Promotion of Art & Culture is organizing ‘Painter’s Camp’ at Port Blair in collaboration with Lalit Kala Akademi, Kolkata from 23rd to 28th September 2016 in the Art Gallery & Studio at Gandhi Park.
Lalit Kala Akademi is deputing National level Painters Shri. Mukninath Mondal (Gujarat), Ms. Nabanita Guha (Kolkata), Shri. Apu Dasgupta (Kolkata), Ms. Rajashree Dutta Chowdhury (Assam), Shri. Henba Tensuba (Manipur) and Shri. Swapan Nandy (Tripura). Four artists from these islands have also been selected by Lalit Kala Akedemi to participate in the camp. They are Shri. R. K Biswas, Shri.Alok Adhikari, Shri. P. Senthil Kumar and Shri. G. Suresh Kumar.
In order to provide opportunity to all the artists practicing in the Islands, Shri. Shekhar Paul, Shri. Mohan Rao. S, Shri. Yogeswara Rao.Y, Shri. Mahananda Gomosta, Shri. Parmeswar Rao.B, Shri. S.N. Sreeprakash, Shri. Neelakantam. D, Shri. Krishnendu Chakraborty, Shri. Basu Kumar, Shri. Jai Prakash. S and Smt. Shampa Ray have also been invited to participate in the National Level ‘Painters Camp’. This camp will provide an opportunity to the artists to engage with one another in an informal way of interaction thus enriching their own experience and growth. Ms. Ankita Mishra Bundela, Secretary (Art & Culture), A&N Administration/Vice Chairman, Executive Council, Kala Kendra will inaugurate the camp on 23.09.2016 at 6 PM.
