Port Blair, Sept 19: The Inner Wheel Club here organized an awareness programme on traffic rules and safe driving at Govt. Senior Secondary School, School Line on Sunday. Speaking to the students, Inspectors from the Traffic Police, Mr Tiwari and Mr Arjun Prasad said that the rules are meant for saving the precious lives and explained various signals to be followed while driving the vehicles. They informed about various steps taken by the department to regulate the traffic on the roads. Students were also requested to wear helmets while driving the two-wheeler and follow the speed limitations. CCTV camera’s will be installed in main junctions in the city soon, the informed.
The Principal of the School, Mr Sharad Chandran thanked the Club for organizing the programme in the school and asked students to follow the rules of the traffic while driving vehicles on the roads and observed that such programmes should be organized on regular intervals to create awareness.
Earlier, Smt.Anita Puria, President Inner-wheel Club, Port Blair said that in future such programmes will be conducted to create awareness among the masses. Smt. Farida Hasan, Club member proposed the vote of thanks while Smt. Komal Anand coordinated the programme.
