Port Blair, September 15: An eight-year old boy today drowned in a nallah behind his house at Wimberlygunj Village, South Andaman.
The deceased, identified as Vaibhav Lakra S/o Kamal Lakra aged 8 years R/o W. Gunj, has reportedly gone out to respond to nature’s call when, it is believed that, he accidentally slipped into the nallah.
There was heavy flow in the nallah due to incessant rain since morning. When family members reported this matter to police a massive search operation was launched but till last report poured in the boy could not be traced.
The Forest Department, Fire Brigade, Police diving team and even the youths of the area are searching the body, it is learnt.
