Port Blair, Sept 15: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Union has organized its 1st Convocation for the students of Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management and Junior Diploma in Cooperative Management on Thursday at Teylarabad. Mr Ramesh Verma, Secretary (Cooperation) was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was attended by Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, ANSCU, Mr Ghyas Meshack, Vice Chairman, ANSCU, Mr B Banerjee, Vice Chairman, ANCOFED, Mr Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, ANSCB, Mr G Vaidyanathan, AGM, NABARD, Mr Raju, DRCS (HQ), Mr K Murugan, CGM, ANSCB, Board of Directors of ANSCU, Senior Cooperators, Bank Officials, students and a large gathering of Cooperative members.
Mr Ramesh Verma, Secretary (Cooperation) presented Course Completion Certificate to all the 54 participants who had successfully completed HDCM and JDCM courses in the year 2015 and 2016. In his keynote address, Mr Verma, appreciated the efforts undertaken by ANSCU in enrollment and successful completion of HDCM/JDCM courses. He had appreciated the efforts of various Cooperative Societies like CCS, CCWS, ANSCB, ANCOFED etc in extension of services in the remotest corner of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He also informed that a total of over 1800 societies are presently registered in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, out of which majority of them are under Construction purposes. The Chief Guest also requested the people present on the occasion to explore new sectors like Spices, Tourism, Fisheries, Agriculture and Diary ventures under the Cooperative sector. He also assured to fill up the vacant post of sub-Inspector and cooperative Inspector at the earliest. He also added that Cooperative Department is soon going to launch its website for the people of A & N Islands which shall cater all the ground level data of Cooperative Societies of the Island. At the end, he once again thanked and conveyed his best wishes for the students of HDCM/JDCM courses for the successful completion of the Course.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Union informed the gathering that a total of 54 students have completed HDCM & JDCM courses in the Institute. He also requested the Secretary (Cooperation) to expedite the process of Recruitment of vacant posts of Sub inspector and Cooperative inspector lying vacant in Cooperative Department. He further urged all the people to come forward and join HDCM/JDCM courses. He further added that in past people willing to undergo HDCM/JDCM courses needs to travel to mainland, however with the introduction of such courses at Andaman a new opportunity and scope is created for students.
In his address, Mr Ravinder Rao, MD, ANSCB appreciated the efforts of Board of Directors and the entire staffs of ANSCU in the commencement and successful completion of HDCM and JDCM courses.. He further stated that for the overall economic development of Cooperative sector of India, the Cooperative movement has always played a vital role. The Coop. Societies like CCS, CCWS, ANSCB, ANSCU, ANCOFED, etc had extended their helping hands for the people of A & N Islands in far flung areas. Mr Anant Rao, General Secretary, ANSCU proposed the vote of thanks.
