Port Blair, Sep t15: As per Hindu Mythology performing ‘Pind Dan’ by descendent members Rests the Soul of departed Ancestors in peace. It is also believed that performing ‘Pind Dan’ makes the Souls of Ancestors happy and they bless us with strength to overcome hurdles and to progress in material world.
Shri Ram Yash Tiwari, Eastern Zone Pramukh of All World Gayatri Parivar of Haridwar, who is currently on a visit to the Islands informed about the importance and benefits of ‘Pind Dan’.
Performing ‘Pind Dan’ during ‘Aswin Krishna Paksha’ is more relevant as the ancestors expect that their descendents will perform ‘Pind Dan’ following the traditional method. If descendents do not perform the ‘Pind Dan’ during the period, the ancestors might get disappointed.
Hence to bring in peace in lives of people and the help the Souls of Ancestors to rest in peace, the Gayatri Chetna Kendra, Port Blair is organizing “Shradh performing and Yagya” between 16th September and 29th September at Port Blair (as per thithi of death of Ancestors), Shri Tiwari said during a press conference here today. The timing would be 8 am to 11 am on the aforesaid dates.
All individuals who wish to perform ‘Pind Dan’ have been asked to approach the Gayatri Chetna Kendra office at Haddo. The Aacharya from Haridwar will guide the descendents in performing the ‘Pind Dan’. The programme is being organized free of cost.
Similarly on 30th September a community ‘Pind Dan’ programme will be organized at Community Hall, Haddo to bring peace in all known or unknown Souls of ancestors.
