Port Blair, Sept 15: The Directorate of Social welfare is in the process of shifting to Public Financial Management Services (PFMS), wherein Old Age Pension/Widow Pension/Destitute Allowance/Disability Allowance will be credited to the Bank Accounts of beneficiaries directly from the month of September 2016 onwards. This is an initiative to bring transparency and timely disbursal of Financial Assistance to the beneficiaries without the intervention of any other agencies. Since it is a new programme, and due to low internet connectivity, a delay may occur for the initial months of September and October 2016 in crediting the pension in the accounts of the beneficiaries. All the beneficiaries have been requested to support the Administration in this endeavor so that the beneficiaries can avail the benefit without any delay in future.
