Port Blair, Sept 11: The VKV, Rangat celebrated Universal Brotherhood day in the school premises. Dr. Surya Kant Singh GDMO (Ay) CHC, Rangat was the chief guest on the occasion. In his brief address, Dr. Surya Kanta Singh , GDMO (Ay) CHC Rangat talked about the importance of Indian culture, spirituality of Vedanta, harmony and brotherhood and advised the students to have self confidence and face problems with courage. The Principal, Mr CH. Shanmuga Rao highlighted the importance of the day. Mr Ram Mistry, General Secretary, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, N & M Andaman and Mr Prasasd, VLW, Billiground were also present on the occasion. During the function, parents, staff and students were motivated to follow the path shown by Swami Vivekananda. Various competitions like speech, drawing, different yogas and surya Namaskar were conducted and prizes were awarded to the winners. Students presented their speech on Chicago address and life and legend of swami Vivekananda. Cultural programme was performed by our school children.
