Port Blair, Sept 11: A meeting with around 45 Presidents/Secretary/Representatives of Durga Puja Committees was organized recently in the conference hall of SP(D)SA. The meeting was also attended by SDPOs South Andaman & Bambooflat and respective SHOs. The organizers were briefed by SP(D)SA on various safety measures to be observed by them during the celebrations and they were asked to ensure safety precautions. Organizers were also asked to follow the time limits and decibel levels of loudspeaker/music system given by the competent authority. It was also suggested to coordinate with each other during taking out of immersion processions so that there is no traffic congestion and the idols can be immersed safely one by one. In the end SP(D)SA asked for taking adequate safety measures and cooperate with the agencies engaged in enforcing law & order, traffic for the safety and security of the people. The participants were also issued the instructions for strict compliance.
