Port Blair, September 09: The Relay Hunger Strike of Farmer Association of Campbell Bay has completed the fifth day today, but even though the demands kept by the association have not yet been resolved by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
As per farmers they have not got any kind of assurance yet from the side of administration.
The Farmer Association of Campbell Bay is on a relay hunger strike from 5th September 2016 at Zero Point, Campbell Bay.
The agitation is against non fulfillment of their long pending demand of fixing up the prices of Copra again.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Vice President of Bharthiya Janta Party, Mr Sanjay Singh has said that this is the 5th day of the Relay Hunger Strike but no message has come from the side of Administration yet.
“If all goes well I am going to meet the Lt Governor tomorrow with the problems of the farmers for which they are on a Relay Hunger Strike. I hope that something positive will come out after meeting the Lt Governor,” Sanjay Singh said.
Mr Sanjay Singh further said that the delegation of farmers, will go for indefinite hunger strike from 11/09/2016 if this matter is not resolved by the administration till then.
