Port Blair, Sept 6: Teacher’s day was observed in Andaman College (ANCOL) with much pomp and revelry. Various programs were conductedto mark the day. The program started with the traditional lamp lighting, followed by grand laughing of the portrait of Dr. Radhakrishnan by the Principal and Teachers.
Earlier, Dr. Nazma Begum, Asst. Prof.(Hindi) welcomed the gathering. Principal of the college Dr. R. Devdas in his address to the students highlighted on the great works done by Dr. Radhakrishnan. He further stressed that our country is the land of many scholars who broughtlaurels to the country through their tireless efforts which later helped in transforming the society.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. A.K. Shukla, HOD (Hindi) and hosted by Nidhi Rao and Shruthi Sociology Department. He also expressed his views on this occasion. Representatives from the students council also expressed their views which was followed by a small cultural program organized by the Music department. Mr Prakash Horo, Asst. Prof. (Hindi) proposed the vote of thanks.
