Port Blair, Aug 29: The Andaman College (ANCOL) has completed the formation of first Students Council recently to help students understand and experience the democratic values and process enshrined in our Constitution. The process of formation of the Council started with election of class representatives from all classes and disciplines comprising total 24 students and the elected class representatives elected the Executive Body of the Students Council with T Prabhakaran of BA English (3rd year) as President, S Naveen of Sociology (3rd year) as Vice President, Salman of Economics (3rd year) as General Secretary and Asish of BPA Music (1st year) as Treasurer for the academic year 2016-07.
The entire election was coordinated by a team comprising Dr C Pushpavalli, HoD English, Dr Sushim Kumar Biswas, HoD Sociology and Mr Raja Rao, Physical Education Director under the overall supervision of the Principal, Dr R Dev Das. The Principal and staff of ANCOL congratulated the members of the Council and encouraged them to shoulder the responsibility of welfare and development of the institution.
