Port Blair, August 21: Adding to Carmel School’s Raksha Bandhan Controversy, the Andaman & Nicobar Union Territory Commission for Protection of Child has sought an explanation from the Carmel Senior Secondary School.
As per reports, the UTCPCR has received several complaints from the parents and students of the school that the school authorities did not allowed students to tie the Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan day during school hours and has also removed the Rakhi from student’s hand.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Chairperson, UTCPCR, Mrs Kiran Tigga said that on one hand the school was functioning on RH day and on the other hand the school did not allow students to celebrate Rakhi. “This is absolutely wrong and this has hurt the sentiments of students and parents,” she said added that “We have received several complaints from parents and students regarding this and hence we have sought an explanation from the School.”
When Andaman Sheekha tried to contact the Principal of Carmel Senior Secondary School, who is under heavy social pressure, she refused to talk to this press.
