Port Blair, Aug 8: Under the DELP-SOP programme launched by the Prime Minister of India, Electricity Department has received LED bulbs for distribution to all domestic consumers @ 4 LED bulbs on payment of Rs. 10/- for each LED bulb and the consumer has to handover four ordinary bulbs (60 watt) or CFL (20 watt) or higher rating to the distributing authority.
The LED bulbs will be distributed on Aug 11 from 9 am to 1 pm at various site offices under South Andaman Division viz. Sippighat, Chouldari, Manglutan, Ograbraj, Namunaghar, Templemyo, Bambooflat, Wimberlygunj, Ferrargunj, Neil Island, Havelock, Hut Bay and R.K. Pur. The consumers of Shoal Bay and Jirkatang site offices may collect the LED bulbs from Wimberlygunj and Ferrargunj site offices respectively. The consumer shall be required to produce latest bill payment receipt before receiving the LED bulbs. All the domestic consumers of the areas have been requested to contact their respective site offices for receiving LED bulbs.
