Port Blair, Aug 3: The Indian Meteorological Department, RMC Kolkata has forecast heavy rain (07-11 cm) at isolated places over Andaman Islands in the next 24 hrs. Under the influence of strong Southwest monsoon current, strong Southwesterly wind speed between 45 and 55 kmph and rough to very rough seas are likely along and off Andaman and Nicobar coasts. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea. Keep Local Cautionary Signal No III has been kept hoisted at Port Blair port. The general public have been advised to take precautionary measures and contact the State Control Room, District Control Room and Emergency Operation Centers in case of any emergency.
