Kadamtala, July 31: A major bus accident has been reported from the Middle Andaman region this morning, which has left seven people injured. Among seven injured, two sustained serious injuries.
As per report the night service Bus of Geetanjali Travels, was coming from Diglipur region towards Port Blair and on its way today at early morning 3.30 am the bus met with an accident at ‘7 Number’ area of Middle Andaman which falls between Rangat and Kadamtala regions.
As per reports, for reasons not known till now, the bus went off the Andaman Trunk Road and tilted on the left. Many passengers suffered injuries because of breaking of glass windows and front windshield.
The injured people were immediately shifted to Kadamtala Hospital, from where seriously injured passengers were referred to G B Pant Hospital of Port Blair.
As per details there was no First Aid Box in the bus and hence injured passengers could not be given first aid after the accident. Not only this another bus which later carried injured people to Kadamtala also didn’t have First Aid Box.
Increasing number of bus accidents in ATR are somehow pointing out towards massive compromise with safety of passengers by private bus operators. General public are now demanding proper checking of safety measure in all ATR buses. Meanwhile PRI members and public of North and Middle are also raising fingers over Geetanji Buses, which met with several accidents in recent months.

Pathetic condition of ATR road is also a big reason
Geetanjali bus r very old buses and his owner not taking care only he wants money all old buses he only reparining seats for good looking people u now one thing geetanjali all old buses his making new and sending in road new paint and new seats that it’s bus became new I am telling canceled all old buses permeate its good
as per the checking of bus the roads should also be checked & get well maintained
accident is uncertain….it can occur at any time…….infact bus driver should ensure safety of the people….rather than speed ……
