Port Blair, July 28: A group of handicraft artisans alongwith office bearers and management of Yuvasakthi (NGO) on 28.07.2016 bid a symbolic farewell to Mr. M.N.Murali who was to retire as the Director of Industries on 29th July 2016. In a solemn function held in the conference hall of Yuvasakthi at RGT Road on the evening of 28th July 2016, Mr.M.N.Murali was given a warm reception by the contingent of women artisans.
According to them, Mr.M.N.Murali, being the Director of Industries had given them vast opportunity in learning the nuances of handicrafts which in turn provided them a permanent livelihood. During an interaction with women members of self help groups, Mr.Murali shared his views and suggestions on handicraft development and entrepreneurship.
The retiring Director lauded the handicraft artisans as the icon of A&N Islands in the sphere of handicrafts since their expertise in handicraft is based out of locally available raw items.
Mr.M.N.Murali during his vast span of service under the A&N Administration, has put in eight years of service as the Director of Industries and during this period, he was found to be very friendly and easily approachable even by the downtrodden.
The Yuvasakthi alongwith its large contingent of self help groups (Artisans) wished Mr.Murali a happy and peaceful retirement life.
