Port Blair, July 27: The Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA) in association with ANIIDCO organized a Hospitality Management workshop from July 20-24, 2016 which was inaugurated by Smt Seema Verma, President DWWA and Ms Ankita Mishra Bundela, MD, ANIIDCO at Megapode Resort.
“This collaboration between DWWA and ANIIDCO will make up for the deficiency of expertise on the islands by using the skills and experience of the Defence Wives,” said Smt Seema Verma. The islands are showing a rapid economic growth and one way to prepare for the same is by improving the hospitality industry, observed Smt Anikta Mishra Bundela.
Ms Gauri Kher, a well established hospitality trainer with about 25 years of experience of consulting for the well-known brands like Taj Hotels, Oberoi Group, Godrej Properties, Indian Airlines Cabin Crew, India Tourism, Standard Chartered, HDFC etc conducted the workshop for Megapode and Dolphin Resort staff and Defence Mess staff from Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC). She also conducted the ‘Train the Trainers’ programme for Defence Wives who will be conducting the future workshops for the hospitality sector on the Islands.
