Port Blair, July 27: A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp (VBD Camp) was facilitated by A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) which was organized by Suba’s Welfare Association with Sailors Union of India, Port Blair at Tiranga Park, Aberdeen Bazaar in memory of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Wednesday. Altogether, 40 persons voluntarily donated Blood.
The VBD Camp was inaugurated by the chief guest Smt Ratna Kannan, ex- Chair-Person, SSWB, in presence of Mr. R. Damodharan, ex-chairman, PBMC, Port Blair. The camp was conducted under the leadership of Dr. R. K. Halder, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society.
The camp was facilitated by Dr. Sahil Seghal, Medical Officer (Blood Bank), G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair. He and his team ensured the proper examination of the donors for their eligibility for blood donation. They also briefed the donors on various aspects and importance of blood donation.
