Diglipur, July 25: The Secretary of Industries (Secretary to LG, Secretary to Social welfare) Smti Rashmi Singh today inaugurated Sagarika Emporium sale counter in a simple function at Diglipur.
The sale counter is constructed opposite to APWD Guest house.
Director Industries Dept. Shri Murali, Asst Commissioner Diglipur Shri A K Trivedi, DFO Diglipur Shri Ajay Kumar IFS, Commander Coast Guard, Pramukh Diglipur and PRI members were present on this occasion.
After inauguration she congratulated and complimented all the staff and colleagues for starting the sale counter. The purpose of the Emporium is to promote Local artisans and to market their products.
It will also attract tourists and various customers. She said that this is not just a sale counter it is an economic opportunity for the locals to promote their art and earn. For more development of the outlet she stressed to send the artisans to mainland for the training.
She also asked the organizers to attract the young generation organize various programmes from school levels to master the students in handicrafts. She asked the Director of Industries Dept. to study the viability of E-commerce website for marketing Sagarika products and give preference.
