Port Blair, May 22: Air conditioning panel of Air India’s flight number 788 (Port Blair- Kolkata) gave a scary time to passengers on 19 May 2012. According to reports entire AC control panel of Air India came out of top shelf when a passenger tried to adjust a knob to adjust the temperature.
Photograph available with Andaman Sheekha shows how dangerously the AC control Panel was hanging over passengers present on the aircraft. However when the passenger raised alarm, passengers on the said row were shifted to another row.
“That was a scary experience as if we are watching scary film like Final Destination. Although the flight attendants assured us that this won’t reduce the air pressure of the flight and won’t cause any danger but as general public we always have apprehensions,” said a passenger present on the flight.
Passengers allege that the problem was not only with the AC panel. “One must come and check how pathetic was the condition of some seats of the aircraft. They charge heavily for each ticket but in return they provide us third class facilities,” the passenger added.
