Port Blair, July 18: A solemn function in memory of Late Capt. Ashim Kumar Bhattacharjee will be held in JNRM campus on 20th July 2016 to mark the death anniversary of the brave son of the islands who made the islanders proud by laying down his life while fighting militants in Jammu & Kashmir on July 20, 2000. Brig. S.K. Kathpalia will deliver the 2nd Capt. Ashim Kr. Bhattacharjee Memorial Lecture on the topic “Param Vir Chakra- the Spirit of Sacrifice”. Smt Sheela Singh, Chairperson, PBMC will be the chief guest and Mr K. Ganeshan, Councillor, PBMC will be guest of honour.
