Port Blair, July 11: The Electricity Department today informed that due to sudden breakdown of 01 No. 2.4 MW MTU DG Set at Phoenix Bay Power on 11.07.2016 at about 6.30 PM, the department had excersied 45 minutes rotational load shedding on 11.7.2016 from 6.30 PM to 9.30 PM at Bhatu Basti complete, Laxmi Motor area, Pathergudda, Setlite Colony, New Pahargaon, part of Dollygunj, part of old Pahargaon, ICMR Colony area, Minnie Bay, Shristy Nagar, Marine Hill, Dugnabad, Cellular Jail, Atlanta Point, part of Aberdeen Bazaar, Light House, Phoenix Bay, Fisheries Jetty area, Anarkali, Delanipur, Quarry Hill, Phongy Kyaung, Foreshore Road, Megapode, Teal House and Horticulture Road area.
“The engineers of electricity department have been trying to carry out the repairing of above mentioned DG set at the earliest. However, if same will be not completed by tomorrow evening, the department may exercise same 45 minute rotational load shedding tomorrow also to other area except the area mentioned above on as and when required basis.
The electricity consumers are requested to cooperate with the department. The inconvenience cause is deeply regretted,” the press release informed.
