Little Andaman, July 08: Child Line PRAYAS has prevented a child marriage at RK Pur, Little Andaman recently.
As per reports, the aged father of the 15 year old girl, who is reportedly in a live-in relationship with another widow, wanted to anyhow get rid of his three minor daughters and thus he planned the marriage of his elder daughter who is 15 year old to a 38 year old divorcee man, who is also an alcoholic, it is learnt.
However, just before a day of marriage the 15 year old girl anyhow managed to call the PRAYAS representative at Little Andaman who then contacted the Little Andaman SHO and later Child Line PRAYAS with the help of the Hut Bay Police rescued the 15 year old girl from the house of the relatives of 38 year old divorcee man.
It is learnt that Child Line PRAYAS with the help of the Little Andaman Police after rescuing the girl produced her to the Child Welfare Commission.
