Port Blair, July 06: Sri Annai Aravind Health Care and Social Welfare Trust (SAAHSWT) conducted one month celebration on the eve of 2nd International Day of Yoga in Campbell Bay. One month Yoga Classes & Mass Demonstration held at various Community Halls of Campbell Bay, Joginder Nagar, Govind Nagar, Laxmi Nagar in Campbell Bay, Nicobar District from 21.05.16 to 21.06.16 sponsored by Central Council of Research in Yoga & Naturopathy (CCRYN), Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, New Delhi. About 300 participants were participated.
SAAHSWT conducted Awareness activities of Yoga Asana, Essay, Elocution & Drawing competitions on 12th & 15th June 2016 at the Community Hall of Campbell Bay. About 50 Students were participated.
SAAHSWT conducted Yoga Photo Exhibition & Herbal Identification on 20th & 21st June 2016 at the Community Hall of Campbell Bay. About 150 participated were got awareness about Herbal Medicines, Yoga & Naturopathy. IEC materials were also distributed door to door at the venue of the one month Yoga Class, Yoga Rally, Yoga Exhibition, Competitions & Valedictory function.
SAAHSWT in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra marched Yoga Rally from Zero Point, Campbell Bay to Jetty, Campbell Bay on 19th June 2016 from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Eighty Three participated were participated. Shri. Rajendra Paul, Block Development Officer was the Chief Guest and flagged off the Rally in presence of Shri. E.S. Rajesh, Pradhan, Pradhan, Laxmi Nagar, Rozallia Kullu, Pradhan, Govind Nagar, and Shri. D. Jayaraman, Panchayat Samiti Member and Shri Joseph John, District Youth Coordinator & Shri GC Biswas of NYK.
SAAHSWT jointly conducted Valedictory Function in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra’s Programme – District Youth Convention. Shri. Rajendra Paul, Block Development Officer was the Chief Guest and Shri. E.S. Rajesh, Pradhan, Pradhan, Laxmi Nagar, Rozallia Kullu, Pradhan, Govind Nagar, and Shri. D. Jayaraman, Panchayat Samiti Member and Shri. Gagan Dweep Singh, Zilla Parishad Member were graced the function. The function was coordinated with the support of Shri Joseph John, District Youth Coordinator, NYK. While Shri GC Biswas of NYK also highlighted main objective of this programme is to develop leadership qualities among the youth to enable them to realize their full potential to contribute to the nation building process by practicing Yoga regularly.
The Prizes and consolation prizes were awarded to the winners of the Yoga Essay, Elocution, Drawing Competitions & Asana Competitions and one month Yoga Class Protocol Training Class Students. During the concluding session, Yoga Demonstration also held by the One Month Yoga Class Trained Students of SAAHSWT and coordinated by Ms. Shelawathi, BPE, BPEd., Dip. in Yoga of SAAHSWT including all the Yoga Instructors of SAAHSWT. In the History of A & N Islands, first time the International Yoga Day was celebrated at the Nicobar Group of Islands (Campbell Bay) and reached utmost awareness about Yoga among the general public of the remotest parts of the Union Territory of A & N Islands and also appreciated by all the participants and the general public of Campbell Bay.
About 120 participants were participated and the Valedictory function of 2nd International Day of Yoga 2016 and District Youth Convention, Programme of Nehru Yuva Kendra was successfully completed by the Sponsored Scheme of CCRYN, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
