Port Blair, June 30: As reported in a section of the local media on June 29 alleging that there has been discrimination in recruitment Tradesman in NSRY, it is pertinent to state that NSRY, Port Blair has been entrusted to carry out the recruitment of 151 posts of industrial manpower. It comprises of 105 Tradesman and 46 Tradesman Mate. The recruitment is being conducted strictly in accordance with laid down policy guidelines issued by the Govt of India and Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy), New Delhi and applications have been invited from candidates on an ‘All India Basis’ as published in the Employment News dated 11 Dec 15. In order to give ample opportunities to the local population of the Islands, all the employment exchange sponsored candidates have been issued with call letters for written examination of Tradesman Mate.
Other candidates for Tradesman Mate have been shortlisted in the appropriate manner (in accordance with directives in force) based on merit of class 10th results. It is reiterated that the recruitment process is being undertaken strictly in accordance with the Govt of India Regulations and no favoritism nor discrimination has been made to any of the candidates by the recruiting authorities, said Col Yogesh Sharma, Command PRO in a release.
