Port Blair, June 30: As per the direction of Government of India, all the beneficiaries availing pension/allowances under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)/Old Age Pension/Widow Pension/Destitute Allowances and Disability Allowances schemes implemented by the Social Welfare Department are required to be covered under Direct Benefit Transfer for which their Bank Account should be seeded with Aadhar. Accordingly, the Department had issue notices in the past requesting all concerned to submit their Aadhar No. in the respective Office of Child Development Project Officer or in the office of Directorate of Social Welfare by 20th June, 2016.
It has been observed from the documents submitted so far that many of the beneficiaries already availing financial assistance from the Department have failed to submit their Aadhar Nos. it is clarified for the information of the concerned that Non-seeding of Bank Account with Aadhar will lead to delay in sanction of pension/allowances from the month of July, 2016, till the receipt of Aadhar.
