Port Blair, June 23: Smt DM Savitri, noted poetess and writer of the Islands presenting four books written by her to Lt Governor, Lt Gen A K Singh (Retd), at Raj Niwas on 23.06.2016. Smt DM Savitri recently received the Ganga Sharan Singh Award from the President of India for the year 2013 for her outstanding contribution to Hindi language and literature.
The books include Khamoshi, Sagar Bala, Andaman Ke Stree Swar and Angan Kay Phool. The Lt Governor thanked her for the books and expressed his happiness that a woman of the Islands was conferred with such a prestigious award and made the Islands proud.
