Port Blair, June 21: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair celebrated International Day of Yoga 2016-cum-District Level Youth Convention on Tuesday Community Hall, Garacharma – I along with 21 venues of South Andaman District in association with District Health Society, A&N Administration, Sagar Club, Bhatu Basti, SAASHWT, Yuvati Mandals and PBMC. The Councillor, Ward no. 19, Mr K Muthu, Councillor, and Mr NK Uday Kumar, Councillor, Ward No. 24, Mr Udit Prakash, Secretary, Municipal Council participated in the warm up exercises along with other participants. The yoga demonstrations were led by expert Ms. K. Santhi. Participants were sensitized about benefit of regular Yoga practice as well as flagship schemes launched by Govt. of India by Mr Kundan Lal, District Youth Coordinator. Booklets were also distributed to the participants about the government schemes. Earlier on May 19, a mass awareness rally on International Day of Yoga was organized by the District Health Society, A&N Administration at am at Bhatu Basti Bus Stand to District Hospital, Garacharma via Pathargadda in which Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair actively participated with Youth Club members.
