Mayabunder, May 31: The Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray along with the Pradhan Mayabunder Panchayat today reached the fishermen colony of Mayabunder.
He went to the house of deceased fisherman along with the gathering and met with his family members and expressed his condolence.
Later a meeting was organised along with Pradhan, Samiti Member, the party workers and villagers of the fishermen colony and discussed about the problems of the fisherman.
The villagers raised the problems of fisherman during the period of alert, when they can’t go for fishing and they didn’t receive any compensation or help and demanded for the help.
The problems of the villagers were also discussed with SP N & M Andaman, Supdt Fishers Dept and other department officials.
It is also discussed that there is no warning system installed till date and the incident took place due to the lapse from the side of administration, who didn’t take necessary action for installing the warning system.
The MP directed concerned officers to take necessary action for the same.
