Port Blair, April 25: The Directorate of Education in association with Ayush Hospital organized the Inter School Block Level Yoga Olympiad for Upper Primary Level (VI- VIII- (11-14 Yrs age group) and Secondary Level (IX & X-14-16 age group ) for boys and girls of head quarter area schools at Junglighat School Hall on Monday.
Mr V T Reddy, Deputy Director Education (Plg.) and Dr Krishnan Kutty, Medical Officer, Homeo, AYUSH Hospital, DHS were the chief guest and guest of honor respectively. Mr Reddy appreciated the efforts of the participants and wished them good Luck. Dr.Krishnan Kutty congratulated the Education Department and the Organizers for the well disciplined organization of the event.
Earlier, Mr Mohd Wakeel, Headmaster, GSS Junglighat welcomed the gathering. Mr Ganesh Ch Biswas, AS (Sports), Dte. Of Education gave a brief about the Yoga Olympiad. D Satish Kumar of SSS KV-1, G Raju of GSS Junglighat, Nitesh Kispota of GSS Junglighat and Piyush Mishra of SSS VKV bagged the first four positions in the Upper Primary (Class VI-VIII) for Boys 11-14 age group category, while V Dhanalaxmi of GSS Junglighat, E Gayatri of SSS Carmel, G Priya of GSSS Mohanpura and Prema Kumari Kispotta of GSS Junglighat bagged the first four prizes in the Upper Primary (Class VI-VIII) for Girls 11-14 age group. The events for Secondary Level (Class IX-X), 14-16 Yrs age Group Boys & Girls will be held at Junglighat School Hall on April 26 from 9 am.
