Port Blair, April 20: The A & N AIDS Control Society organized voluntary Blood Donation camp at the Forest Training Institute, Wimberlygunj. The camp was organized by Officers and Staff of Forest Training Institute. Mr S.K. Thomas, Divisional Forest Officer, Wimberlygunj inaugurated the camp for which 20 persons offered to donate blood. However, only 17 persons including two females were found fit to donate blood.
The camp was conducted under the supervision and leadership of Dr. R.K. Halder, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society. The camp was facilitated by Dr. Sahil Sehgal, Medical Officer (Blood Bank), G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair. He briefed the donors on various aspect and importance of blood donation. The camp was coordinated by Smt. Palwinder Kaur, Counsellor of A & N AIDS Control society.
