Port Blair, April 19: To provide direct Marketing Opportunities to the SHG’s, Farmers, Marginal artisans and MSMEs, a buyer seller meet, Andaman Bazar will be organized from April 27-30, 2016 at ITF Ground by Industries Department in association with NABARD. The Department of Agriculture, Art & Culture, Tourism and Andaman Nicobar Islands State Co-operative Bank Ltd have also collaborated for the event. The next SHG HAAT or the Andaman Bazar will be held from April 27-30 at ITF Ground from 5 pm to 9 pm. Interested SHG’s, Farmers, Artisans and MSMEs interested for display and sale of their products and services in the fair can submit their application to the Assistant Director (Technical) , Directorate of Industries latest by April 25.

The initiative is aimed at providing marketing opportunity for the produce of the women SHG’s and efforts have been made to provide direct marketing opportunities for the agricultural produce of the farmers of these Islands. So far, 75 SHG’s, 60 Farmers put up their agricultural produce for sale besides few Marginal Artisans and Micro enterprises. Farmers from Chouldari, Manglutan, Ograbraj, Namunaghar, Tushnabad, Mithakari, Wright Myo and Diglipur have also participated.
