Port Blair, Apr 15: On the eve of Bengali New Year “Poyla Baishak 1423” the members of Andaman Sangeet Academy(ASA), Junglighat, Port Blair, arranged a cultural evening in the prayer hall of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir Secondary School(E.M), Prothrapur, Port Blair on 14th April 2016 at 5.30pm. Smti. Minati Biswas, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parished South Andaman District was the Chief Guest and Shri. Mahinder Prasad, Ex. Senior Vice Chairpersons of PBMC was the Guest of Honour in this cultural programme.
The music teacher of the Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA) presented an inaugural song ‘Esho he baishakh’. The students of Academy, Muktadharaand others presented their variety entertainment programme.
During the sound musical instruments changed the tone and temper of the atmosphere in the vicinity. The entire programme was table accompanies by Shri Chinmoy Das and Shri Soumen Home Chowdhury.
At the outset Shri Shyamalendu Goswami, President of Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA) welcomed the gathering. Smti. Minati Biswas & Shri Mahinder Prasad blessed the children for their performance and appreciated the musical artists with blessing of New Year.
At the end vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Soumen Home Chowdhury, the General Secretary of Andaman Sangeet Academy (ASA), Junglighat, Port Blair. Thereafter all enjoyed special dinner on the occasion.
