Port Blair, April 11: The door to door waste collection with segregation at source level started in Ward No. 01 recently under the supervision of Mr Raghubir Singh, Sanitary Inspector and Mr Jatan Lall, Senior Sanitary Inspector. The Port Blair Municipal Council express gratitude to the residents and shopkeepers of Ward No.01 for their support and cooperation extended to achieve the aforesaid target. Segregation at source level at Ward No.2 will start from 13-04-2016. On 11/04/2016 and 12/04/2016 Sanitary Staff shall be imparted with specialized training in Segregation of wastes.

The residents and shopkeepers of the Ward No.2 have been requested not to dispose waste of their houses and shops in the open and keep the dry and wet waste (segregated waste) in different bins/ bags/ containers, which will be collected from respective residential places and shops by the allocated Sanitary workers of the council.
