Port Blair, April 11: Due to sudden breakdown of 01 No 11 KV Switchgear at Chatham Power House, power supply was interrupted on Monday from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. The areas affected are Shadipur, South Point, Mazaar Pahad, Machi Line, RGT Road, Govt. Press, JNRM College, Haddo, Buniyadabad, Foreshore Road, AIR, DDK Colony, part of Delanipur, part of Prem Nagar, Coast Guard Enclave, Coast Guard HQ, Coast Guard Jetty, Panipath Road Chatham Mill, Chatham Wharf, Haddo Wharf, IOC & MES Power House. The switchgear has temporary rectified and normal power supply has been restored from 5 PM onwards.
The maintenance of breakdown 11 KV switchgear at Chatham Power House will be carried out on April 12 and power supply will be affected from 8 am to 12 noon. The electricity consumers have been requested to cooperate with the department.
