Port Blair, Apt 03: The Annual General Body Meeting of the Clerical Cadre Branch of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held at Port Blair yesterday under the Chairmanship of Shri S.Surender, Vice President of the Clerical Cadre Branch who welcomed those present in the meeting. Shri R.Raji, Secretary, Clerical Cadre Branch Committee presented the Report of the Branch for the last one year while Shri Nazir Hussain, Treasurer presented the Audited Accounts of the Branch Committee.
Earlier, inaugurating the General Body meeting Shri D. Ayyappan, General Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Gazetted Officers’ Association called upon the Clerical Cadre employees working under the Administration to remain alert against the forces who are trying to take away the benefits now being enjoyed by the Clerical Cadre employees. He said that despite strong plea made by the Central Govt. employees organizations all over the country, the demands for up-graded pay for Lower Grade Clerk and Higher Grade Clerks are not being accepted either by the Central Pay Commission or the Government.
Addressing the meeting Shri T.S. Sreekumar, General Secretary, Non Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association explained in brief the agitation being conducted by the Central Govt. employees in the country against the retrograde recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission and various anti-employees policies of the Central Government. Shri P. Sathyapal, Asst. General Secretary and Shri R.Rajendran, Organizing Secretary also spoke on the occasion.
A number of issues related to Clerical Cadre employees were discussed in the meeting. A large number of Clerical Staff posted at Port Blair attended the meeting.
