Port Blair, Mar 22: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat is organizing seven days Life Skill Education Camp (Non- Residential) at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Oralkatcha from March 22 to 28, 2016 in which 40 adolescent students from Baratang are participating. Mr Roy George, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Nilambur inaugurated the camp on Tuesday in the presence of Smti MV Jolly, Vice Principal, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Oralkatcha, Mr S Shivraj, Senior Coordinator of Vidhya Yuvakendra Foundation and Smt Shanta Raj, GTT, Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Oralkatcha. The chief guest appealed to the participants to disseminate the information gathered among others and every participants should have interest in learning the important things from the camp. Smt MV Jolly, Vice Principal she highlighted the importance of Life Skill Education and its benefit and opined that one should learn from the other’s experience and be able to take instant decision to cope with any problem/situation.
During the seven days’ camp the topics introduction to life skills, understanding life skills, vulnerability of adolescents, adolescents sexual and reproductive health, adolescents and RTI/HIV, understanding high risk behavior, communication’ career guidance and counseling and flagship programme of Govt. of India will be covered by the resource person Mr S Shivraj, Senior Coordinator from VidhyaYuvakendra Foundation, Port Blair, resource person from banks and schools. Besides these the activities yoga, sports and games, exposure visit will be also conducted.
