Port Blair, Mar 18: An Assessment Camp for CWSN of the Mayabunder Educational zone was conducted in the conference hall of the Deputy Education Officer, Mayabunder on Friday. About, 23 CWSN along with their parents participated in the camp. Dr. R. Thulasidasan, Medical Superintendent, Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder and Dr. Priyanka Iqbal, Medical Officer, Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder assessed the CWSN and recommended the appropriate aids and appliances for the CWSN.
Mr R. Thulasidasan, disclosed that time to time efforts are made by the Health Services of these islands to identify and award proper certificates to the CWSN. After his posting to this district, he has simplified the process of certification by constituting a Medical Board at Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder. After assessment, Dr. Priyanka Iqbal addressed the parents and told the parents of the CWSN to avail the facility provided by Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder at any working hours as stated by the Medical Superintendent. She consoled the parents especially mothers of the CWSN who were seen to be emotional while interacting with the medical authorities.
Welcoming the gathering, Mr Abdul Majid, PSRT briefed about the importance of such camp which is held every year for the benefit of the CWSN. Mr Mammen Thomas, Block Coordinator/Deputy Education Officer, Mayabunder in his address urged the parents to take maximum advantage of the camp. Mr M.C.Prasanna Kumar, PST proposed the vote of thanks.
