PORT BLAIR: The Chairperson, Municipal Council, Smt Sheela Singh inspected the progress of development works of Junglighat Burning Ghat on Tuesday. The Member of Parliament, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray, Mr P Jawahar, Secretary, PBMC, Executive Engineer (Works), PBMC, Assistant Engineers, Junior Engineers of PBMC and officials of ALHW were also present during the inspection. The Member of Parliament directed the officials of ALHW to carry out construction work of compound wall and beautification of the entire area under MPLAD fund.
The Member of Parliament also enquired about the progress of works like roofing of the area, construction of platforms which are being carried out by the PBMC. The Executive Engineer (Works) informed that tender has been finalized and work has to be awarded and assured that the works will be completed without any further delay.
