Port Blair, January 21: A police Jawan hit a motorcycle and a Car and escaped from the spot at Goalghar after breaking a Traffic Signal this evening, it is learnt.
As per report the incident took place at around 6.00 PM, in which the motorcycle rider suffered minor injuries.
As per reports, the police personnel after breaking the Goalghar traffic signal went towards the Dean street area but because of this confusion he hit a motorcycle, coming from Middle Point. As per eye witnesses while escaping from the spot he also hit a car, which waiting for signal on the Dean Street side.
According to sources, after hitting the car the Police Personnel escaped from the spot but it is learnt that the Traffic Police personnel followed him and caught him near the Secretariat building.
The police Jawan was later taken to the Aberdeen Police Station and it is learnt that he was imposed Rs 1000 as challan for speed driving.
