Port Blair, Jan 21: As part of observation of XXIIth Road Safety Week (15th Jan to 21st Jan) the A&N Police of N & M Andaman district have organized an Awareness Motor Cycle Rally from Diglipur to Rangat via Kalighat and Mayabunder on 21.01.2016. The Rally started from Diglipur on 21st Jan 2016 with seven motor cycles and a PCR Vehicle carrying a banner on road safety awareness. When the rally reached Mayabunder, the HQ of N&M District, they were warmly received by Sri.Parvinder Singh, IPS, the Suptd.of Police, N&M District and their team. The rally halted near the main market place/auto stand and counselled the general public regarding the road safety measures to be observed by the citizens. The rally was joined by other officers of the Administration and the PRIs and many other prominent citizens. The hand bills/pamphlets on alcoholism, drug addictionand various other social evils were also distributed among the people for their awareness.
The rally further continued towards Rangat via Billyground, joined by some more vehicles. In Mayabunder the rally was again flagged off by Sri.Arava Gopikrishna, IAS, Deputy Commissioner,N&M District. Thr Rally was under the able leadership and guidance of the sri.Chander Kumar Singh DANIPS, SDPO North Andman, Diglipur.
