Port Blair, Jan 12: The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services will be observing the Animal Welfare Fortnight alongwith rest of the country from 14.01.2016 to 30.01.2016 in a grand manner. The fortnight will commence with a “Awareness Rally” of School Children, NGOs and general public from Secretariat to Veterinary Hospital, Junglighat. The Rally will be flagged off by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration on 14.01.2016 at 08.30 AM from the Secretariat. Many events like Essay & Painting competitions, Planting of Trees, Feeding of birds, Animal Birth Control programmes, Animal Health Camps and Animal Welfare Awareness Camps etc. will be conducted during the fortnight.
