Port Blair, Jan 4: The Secretary (Labour, Employment & Training), Mr Ramesh Verma visited Industrial Training Institute, Dollygunj and held meeting with the officials and reviewed various activities of the Institute. The Secretary emphasized on the need to work with innovative thoughts. He also felt the need for installation of solar roofing panels, herbal farming and processing, skill training on disaster management and strengthen Apprenticeship Training Scheme etc.for benefit of ITI graduates to enable them to acquire placements in various Government and private sectors.
Earlier, the Principal ITI through a Power Point Presentation briefed on various training aspects, bottle necks and future proposals in pipeline for Skill Development activities being implemented in A&N Islands.
The ITI Dollygunj organized a friendly cricket match between the Civil and Mechanical group of trades of ITI Dollygunj to inculcate team spirit and physical fitness amongst the trainees at the Mini Stadium Dollygunj. The Secretary (Labour, Employment & Training) as chief guest commenced the match by tossing the coin. The Labour Commissioner and DET also witnessed the match. The Secretary (Labour, Employment & Training) in his address, motivated the trainees and staff to involve in more and more physical fitness activities like sports and games in their routine life.
